- A saddle type or intense work (ie eventing, endurance, and rugged trails) that requires top-shelf impact protection and comfort for the horse and you need to be able to beef up your pad with your favorite inserts?
- A desire to look good, refined, match? Because considering how much time and money we spend on our horses, we should at least get to match and look good! That feels good, and that's OK.

Grandeur pads are made in Germany, and every single pad is made to your specifications.
Choose:
- Pad construction: Insert pockets? Grippy topside? Underside material? Ventilated or no? structured, or freely moving? Click on my "Which Grandeur Model is right for Me" file below to narrow it down.
- Shape/Style/Size: Grandeur has patterns for the most popular saddles on the market, and can match the pad exactly to your saddle. They also have general templates. There must be hundreds to choose from!!! If none are just perfect for your saddle, they can make a custom pad, no problem.
- Colors: Several dozen combinations of color/quilting patterns to choose from, including refined piping along the edgings.
- Underside: cotton, synthetic hollow-fiber fleece (like hollow-fiber reindeer, provides excellent shock-absorption), real sheepskin, grippy materials, or partial grippy/fleece combo
- Topside can be plain , or add a non-slip material under your saddle
- Inserts: Choose no insert pockets, or one or two insert pockets. Choose from several choices of inserts material/thickness, or add your own.

Lead-times: Your custom pad will take about 6 weeks to produce. Then it has to fly across the Atlantic and land with me in WA State. Then off to you it goes! Plan on 8 weeks from start to finish. I plan to try to stock a small selection of shapes and options that will work well under saddles in my inventory, so will have some ready-to-ship.
Pricing: I convert using an exchange rate averaged over the past 6 weeks, add international shipping costs, tariffs… Hang on while I pull out my abacus… that will bring most pads into a range between about $100 - $300, depending on how basic, fancy, which options you choose.
